TOYOTA GT86 POWER TEST - ROGUE MOTORSPORT
Rogue Motorsport conducted back to back tests comparing Millers Oils’ CFS 0w20NT Nanodrive oil against the factory supplied oil of the same viscosity grade in the new Toyota GT86.
The test car had been driven for approximately 1,000 miles of road use. This engine fitted in this model is a 2.0 litre boxer design with Toyota’s D4S direct injection system. The engine was run up to temperature on Thor Racing’s chassis dynamometer and tested repeatedly until three consecutive runs produced identical figures. Performance results using OE standard oil were measured.
The engine oil was drained and replaced with new Millers CFS 0w20NT and a fresh filter was installed. The engine was run up to operating temperature and further power runs were completed. These runs showed consistently higher values throughout the rev range, as well as increased maximum figures.

Results
Changing from factory fill oil to Millers Oils CFS 0w20 NT Nanodrive increased peak power from 157 to 163.1 bhp, an extra 6.1 bhp or 3.8% peak power measured at the hubs
Maximum torque was also from 127.5 to 131.3 lb/fts, an increase of 3.8 lb/fts or 2.9%
It should be noted that the factory fill oil had been used for 1000 miles and this will have thinned the oil a little, making the results obtained with the Nanodrive oil even more impressive.
Comment from the test team
Managing Director of Rogue Motorsport Patrick Mortell commented: “Millers Oils new Nanodrive range continue to impress. When you consider that changing the oil is the most basic element of a routine service, the fact that you can use this as a performance upgrade is significant.”
