Porsche Power Testing – EB Motorsport
EB Motorsport conducted a back to back test, comparing Millers Oils CFS 10w60 with the new CFS 10w60 NT, an innovative oil incorporating low friction technology. The new oil is one of five grades of low friction oils launched at Autosport 2012. All are designed to reduce friction in race engines, at the same time maintaining an excellent level of engine protection. A recent survey has shown that low engine wear is very important to drivers and team managers alike. Car Details; Porsche 911 RSR, 1973 2994 cc Flat 6 cylinder The engine was prepared by Tuthill Porsche of Wardington, Oxfordshire, UK. The first test, running with CFS 10w60 showed;
Normalised power output (DIN 70020) of 268 bhp
Power at the wheels was 218 bhp
Maximum torque of 296 Nm
After changing the oil for the new CFS 10w60 NT and running it fully up to operating temperature the second power test showed;
Normalised power output (DIN 70020) of 283 bhp
Power at the wheels was 223 bhp
Maximum torque of 307 Nm
By changing to the new CFS 10w60 NT oil impressive increases in power of 5.6% and torque of 3.7% were achieved.
